Originally built in Flash, Defy All Challenges is a website used to promote the launch of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, their IDE for web programming and a fundamental part of Silverlight creation. The website is designed to be more of an informational tool for marketing and product presentations, promoting new features and enhancements through product manager and developer videos. The design of the site was creating using a futuristic 3D gaming theme and allows users to have some fun by creating their own machinima videos that can then be published to the site. Visitors can watch and rate any published videos. Metaliq, Inc was assigned the task of recreating this experience in Silverlight. As part of both the design and development team on this project, I was able to help recreate this experience with many added enhancement to show off the features of Silverlight.
