Archetype Inc was approached by the Microsoft Silverlight team to design a better Silverlight Install experience for its users. The challenge posed to our design and development team was to create an installation experience that is highly customizable, easily integrated with the current silverlight.js support file and the ability to detects browser size and modify the experience to fit multiple form factors. As part of the design team, I helped create the different form factors that will be revealed based on the size of the user’s browser. Working on the development team, I helped code the XHTML/CSS and JavaScript needed for the install experience to work properly. A whitepaper was written for the Silverlight team in order to explain the entire install process.
